Voterheads Receives Grant to Expand Free Newsletter across Columbia Metro Area, Addressing Need for Public Meeting Knowledge

Free weekly subscription notifies those who live, work, or own a business or property in Richland County of upcoming public meetings, agendas

Columbia, SC – Oct. 8, 2024Voterheads, a South Carolina-based technology company that provides monitoring of local government public meetings nationwide, is pleased to announce, with help from a recent grant from the Knight Foundation Fund at Central Carolina Community Foundation, the expansion of its free newsletter service throughout Richland County. Covering public meetings in the entire Columbia metro area, this initiative helps ensure residents have access to what is being voted on and discussed at local public meetings, such as councils, planning commissions, etc.

After a year-long test run distributed by Midlands Biz SC, the newsletter is now a standalone offering of Voterheads with dedicated social channels, continuing its mission to keep the public informed and engaged.

Mike Switzer, CEO of Voterheads and host/producer of SC Public Radio’s South Carolina Business Review, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “We are thrilled to extend our outreach and services to Richland County. Our goal is to empower residents with the information they need to participate actively in their local government and community. Thanks to the Knight Foundation’s generosity, we can now reach even more people and continue to promote civic engagement.”
